Who we are

At Brave Minds Coaching, we believe every child has the potential to thrive — sometimes they just need help finding it. Through compassionate and creative coaching, we guide children and adolescents to think differently, build self-awareness, and understand the powerful connection between their thoughts, actions, and emotions.

Led by Laura, an ICF-certified (ACC) with over 15 years of experience in pediatric mental health, specializing in supporting children, teens, and families, Brave Minds Coaching helps young people navigate challenges, tap into their inner resilience, and take meaningful steps toward feeling better. Whether it’s managing big emotions, learning self-regulation skills, building self-esteem, or growing in self-awareness, our mission is to empower the next generation to face life with courage, clarity, and confidence.

Meet Laura

Brave Minds Coaching Founder

Laura Munson is an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with a heart for helping children, teens, and families thrive. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with honors from the University of Sioux Falls and has spent more than 15 years advocating for vulnerable children. Her work has included serving as a court-appointed special advocate, mentoring young people, guiding families through reunification in the legal system, and managing teams of advocates supporting children in crisis.

Today, Laura combines her professional training with her lived experience to provide mental health coaching for children and families. She has worked with hundreds of young clients to build confidence, manage emotions, and restore connection at home, while also supporting adults through life and workplace well-being coaching across the U.S. and internationally.

Outside of coaching, Laura enjoys staying active and spending time with friends and family. She feels most at peace in the outdoors, especially in the mountains, surrounded by fresh air and open skies. Time in nature helps her recharge and reflects the balance and calm she brings into her work with children and families.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support children and adolescents in becoming more aware of their thoughts, building emotional resilience, and discovering their own capacity to feel better, think differently, and grow with confidence.
